Passenger (P) endorsement

Passenger endorsement training is a program that prepares individuals who hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL) to safely transport passengers. This type of endorsement allows individuals to operate vehicles such as buses, shuttles, and other vehicles used to transport groups of people.

The training typically includes classroom instruction on the specific rules and regulations related to passenger transportation, as well as hands-on practice driving a vehicle designed to transport passengers. It also includes training on passenger management, emergency evacuation procedures and federal regulations. Upon completion of the training and passing the necessary exams, individuals will be qualified to add a passenger endorsement to their CDL and work as a bus, shuttle or other passenger vehicle driver.
